Reiki is a Japanese word that can be translated by " universal vital force ".
This method was founded by Mikao Usui (1865-1926) Tendai Buddhist monk who lived in Japan. In a Zen temple he discovered old manuscripts explaining a powerful healing technique that was later called Reiki. He then decided to share it with as many people as possible and founded the first school of Reiki in Japan in 1922.
It is a natural holistic therapy which consists of imposing hands to transmit Universal Life Force to different zones of the body.
This energy can also be transmitted across a distance.
The patient remains fully clothed, lying on a massage table. He has nothing else to do but relax.
A reiki session is composed of an initial contact with the patient, the treatment including an harmonization followed at the end of the session with some feedback from the patient.
A session typically lasts about 1 hour. Depending on the case one session may be enough e.g. for a temporary difficulty, or more sessions may be necessary.
Reiki restores the balance of all aspects of a human being as a whole: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.
Reiki does not replace traditional medicine. It acts in a complementary manner. Neither is it required to believe in it in order to receive it or feel its positive effects.
